Rev. Steven M. Ahlersmeyer is Senior Pastor of
St. Peters Lutheran Church.
Rev. Steven M. Ahlersmeyer was born in Fort
Wayne, Indiana, on July 19, 1960 to Donald and Janet Ahlersmeyer. He
spent his growing up years in Tennessee, Ohio, and Indiana. In 1982
he received his teaching degree from Concordia College, River
Forest, Illinois. For three years he taught at Trinity Lutheran
School in Fort Wayne, and then in June of 1985 he enrolled at
Concordia Theological Seminary. His vicarage year was spent at Mount
Olive Lutheran Church, Schofield, Wisconsin. Upon graduation from
the Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree, Pastor Ahlersmeyer
was ordained into the holy ministry at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fort
Wayne, on March 12, 1989.
During his pastoral ministry, he has served as
pastor of Faith Lutheran Church, Groton, Connecticut, from 1989 to
1992, and as pastor of King of Kings Lutheran Church, Mason, Ohio,
from 1992 to 2000. In addition to parish duties, Pastor Ahlersmeyer
has served on various boards and committees on both the circuit and
district level. Community activities include serving as Chaplain of
the City of Mason, Ohio Police and Fire Departments from 1998 to
2000. On September 10, 2000, Pastor Ahlersmeyer was installed as
Senior Pastor of St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Pastor Ahlersmeyer married Kathryn Eggold on
August 18, 1984. Their marriage has been blessed with three
children: Heidi, Peter, and Andy.
