Rebuild-NEED VOLUNTEERS
Biloxi
Rebuild III—Yes,
Hurricane Katrina struck over two years ago (August 2005) but the
devastation still remains. Many natives of southern Mississippi are,
even at this late date, still living in FEMA trailers and need your
help! It’s time to think about volunteering to help rebuild homes
in East Biloxi, MS. If you are ready, willing and able, your
services will be put to good use during the month of February 2008.
There will be four one-week trips during the month of February with
travel days scheduled for the weekends. We would like to have
between six to ten volunteers for each week. It’s guaranteed to be a
life-changing experience, one you won’t soon forget! Volunteers
should plan to work Monday through Friday, from 8;00 am—5:00 pm.
While experience isn’t required, it is welcomed. Those with
experience in the building trades, especially plumbing, electrical
and carpentry are urged to volunteer. This will be the third
four-week Biloxi rebuild tour sponsored by the Indiana District
Lutheran Churches from Fort Wayne. The District will pick up room
and board costs for volunteers, which will include a bed, a shower
and most meals. For more information and details or to sign up,
contact Mike Bultemeier 485.1416. Please don’t wait, time is
running out.
