Stewardship

“This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.”
2 Corinthians 9:12
The mission of the St. Peter’s stewardship team is to establish an environment in which our members can work toward living a Christ-centered life. Working daily in placing Christ first in their life, in their decision-making, in their workplace, in their school, at home, and in their social life is paramount. The statement, “I am a Christian.” is not something to declare and then go on living the way we choose. “I am a Christian” implies that the grace given to us by our Father and in the sacrifice of our Savior, Jesus Christ, is understood on some level and whole-heartedly accepted by those who say they believe. The response to this immeasurable gift, is living a life here on earth, completely dedicated to the will of the Father and in gratitude toward the gift of eternal life, we, sinners, do not deserve. “Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord in not in vain.” 1 Corinthians 15:58
Stewardship team is working to Biblically educate St. Peter’s members. In that by studying and becoming more familiar with the Truth, in God’s Word, their faith, love, appreciation, and desire to serve will be solely Christ-centered and God glorifying. Attending weekly worship services, personal Bible study with daily devotion and prayer, small group Bible study, Adult, Youth and Children’s Sunday school classes are just some of the ways to respond to the call of a Christian. “All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17
Stewardship team is also working on providing a service network which is easily accessible. The gifts God has given His children at St. Peter’s are enormous and diverse. It is our endeavor to enable members to tap into the variety of service opportunities which St. Peter’s has to offer; as well as enable those in need of service workers to tap into the service network.
Through Biblical education, Christian conviction and ever-present encouragement let your life become a living service to Christ. Give, not out of obligation, but give because you love Christ that much! After all, He loved you first and will always love you more!
