Director of Finance

Applications for a Director of Finance position will be accepted now through June 1, 2018. This is a new, full-time salary position reporting to the Senior Pastor. The Director of Finance will work collaboratively with the congregation Treasurer and Finance Team to manage all financial aspects of the church, preschool, and day school as well as provide financial guidance to our teams and boards. This will include not only day to day financial operations but also regular government reporting, budget development, auditing and financial reviews, asset inventory management, and working with ministry leaders to ensure optimal stewardship of resources.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting at minimum along with a clear record as determined by a police background check. An ideal candidate would possess training and experience in fund accounting specifically as well as a proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Access. The candidate must be a self-directed self-starter with strong administrative, communication, and project management skills with a heart focused on the ministry. Ideally, candidate will be a member in good standing of St. Peter’s or another LCMS congregation.
