The Ladies Aid Society has been an active organization at St. Peter’s for 78 years; it was organized in September 1934.

On the second Thursday of the month from September thru May we meet in the Cornerstone Room for devotions and a business meeting at 1:30 pm. At the end of the meeting we enjoy cookies and coffee and lots of fellowship. On the fourth Thursday of the month we share in a potluck luncheon at 11:30 am. At all meetings, some ladies enjoy hand-stitching quilts for other people, making baby quilts, or sewing cancer pads. We also have a table of items for sale. They consist of greeting cards, dish cloths, paring knives, hand-made refrigerator towels, and hand-embroidered pillowcases. Our quilting ladies meet every Thursday from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Our ladies also visit shut-ins and people in the nursing homes.

Several of our ladies are also active in knotting comforters for Lutheran World Relief on the fourth Monday of the month. Our organization is also active in Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML).

Our mission is to earn money to help support our church and missions.  We also donate to Concordia Lutheran Seminary, the Lutheran Hour, Worship for Shut-Ins, Lutheran Bible Translators, and various other needs in our own church and school. At Christmas time we give to a Lutheran Social Service family or to some of our own families of the congregation in need, plus two missionary families, and all of our members serving in the military. At Christmas time, we go to Goeglein’s for lunch and entertainment.

We begin our year on the second Thursday of September with a catered luncheon and party.

All ladies of the congregation are invited to come and join our group.
