St. Peter's students entering seventh grade and older are eligible to begin the Confirmation Instruction program. Instruction is provided twice per week during the normal school day.

Students not attending St. Peter's School are eligible to enter the three year Confirmation Instruction program in the 6th grade. Instruction is provided on Sunday mornings from 9:15-10:15 am from September through May.  Please see Pastor Ahlersmeyer or contact the church office for more information.

Confirmation at St. Peter's is viewed as a process with each lesson and experience building on another as the students explore the Truth of the Bible as well as the specific teachings of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. By the end of the program, students participating in the Confirmation service are able to confidently profess as their own the beliefs of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. Rather than a "graduation," Confirmation is viewed as the launch of a lifetime of faith which will continue to strengthen throughout the Christian's life.

The Confirmation Instruction program includes a blend of classroom instruction with independent work designed to help the student grow and develop in his or her faith. Throughout the course of the program, each student develops a Confirmation Portfolio which includes all the independent assignments. All students (whether at St. Peter's or another school) submit their portfolio for review. Portfolios include the following:

  • Written responses to projects
  • Sermon Reports
  • Service Unit Report
  • Confirmation Mentor Report
They will also submit required letters of recommendation for confirmation prior to the confirmation service.
