Deepen Engagement with the Next Generation
My daughter recently turned seven, and my son will be joining Preschool this fall. As parents, Lyndi and I joyfully watch them grow and mature, wondering what God has in store for their lives. We pray that, wherever life takes them, they remain connected to Christ and actively participate in the life of His Church.
That prayer extends far beyond our own family. It includes every child, youth, and young adult at St. Peter’s.
God has blessed our congregation with many wonderful young people. In our school, youth ministries, and young adult community, we see future leaders, servants, teachers, parents, and faithful witnesses to Christ.
One of our goals over the next three years is to deepen our engagement with the next generation. This includes restoring a Sunday School program, strengthening our youth ministries, and encouraging young adults to take active roles in the leadership and life of our congregation.
I hope you share the same sense of anticipation that Lyndi and I feel as we watch our children grow. As you look at the children, youth, and young adults of St. Peter’s, consider what God may accomplish through them in the years ahead. Keep them in your prayers. Encourage them in their faith. Invite them into service. Help them discover and develop the gifts God has given them.
This work cannot be done by a few people alone. Young people need faithful mentors, teachers, and examples. If you have a heart for encouraging the next generation, I would love to talk with you about opportunities to serve.
May God continue to raise up faithful disciples among us for the sake of His Church and His mission.
