Pastor's Corner: It's An Honor
Your Passion. God's Purpose.
Hi St. Peter’s Family,
This week I wanted to let you know how excited I am about working with Austin Bradtmueller and the CCHC. Not only are we partnering with a son of the congregation, we’re also going to be doing amazing things here at our church.
Working with the CCHC provides us with the opportunity to help the people in our local community who need it the most. Right here in our own backyard we have a number of brothers and sisters who meet the qualifications for being part of the Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed (ALICE) population. These individuals have jobs and work diligently, but due to various circumstances are unable to access health care, often because their copay is too high, or their resources are already stretched thin.
When I heard about the very real need associated with these situations partnering with Austin and the CCHC it seemed like a natural fit. As members of St. Peter’s, you know how important it is to reach out with hospitality. As a pastor, I hear over and over again from visitors, and new members alike, that they feel welcomed and comfortable here because of how much we care. Working with the CCHC allows us to capitalize on this very important part of who we are and share our compassion and empathy with the surrounding community.
This weekend we’ll be holding a town hall to talk about this topic and I hope you check out Austin’s video to learn just how much he’s looking forward to collaborating with his home church. Join us if you have questions, or, even if you’re just excited at the idea of what this means for St. Peter’s. And, spoiler alert, we’ve got three different types of volunteers that we’ll need in order to make this the best it possibly can be. Come by and see if any of them fit you and continue praying that this vital ministry makes an impact for Christ.
Peace be with you,
Pastor Nate
