Puerto Rico Mission Update
Updated Newsletter from the Sharps in Mission

We missed seeing Pastor Sharp recently since flu kept him from traveling, but we were happy to receive his most recent newsletter. Pastor James and Angie live in Carolina, about 7 miles from San Juan, the capital city. From there he visits the three established missions at Bayamon (Metro San Juan), Ponce (on the south end of the island, about 80 miles away), and in Mayaguez (120 miles away on the west coast). He also travels to several communities all over Puerto Rico looking to make connections and start new missions. The ambitious goal is to plant a church within 20 miles of every Puerto Rican so that people can come together to do Bible Study and worship.
Meanwhile, Angie travels to Ponce where she has established an After School Club for the local elementary students. She also teaches Sunday School at the nearby mission in San Juan, helps train teachers, and provides materials for them. When school resumes in the new semester she will be teaching two nights of English classes as an outreach to people who want to get better at speaking English. (Most people in Puerto Rico understand English, but some struggle to be comfortable speaking it.)
All four Sharp children were able to be home for Christmas. Elias will soon ship out for basic training for the Air National Guard, and then will continue his education at the U. of Iowa in Spring of 2027. All the rest of the children are at St. Paul High School in Concordia, MO: Ambrose, a senior; Callie, a junior; and Maggie; a freshman. The whole family thanks you for the Christmas cards you sent this year!
