Day 1: The Worth of the Firstborn

Reading: Exodus 13:1-16

Devotional: As we read about God's command to consecrate the firstborn, reflect on how Jesus, as the ultimate firstborn, consecrates us. Just as the Israelites were redeemed by the blood of a lamb, we are redeemed by the blood of Christ. Consider your own worth in God's eyes - not based on your achievements or status, but on the price Jesus paid for you. How does knowing your true worth in Christ change your perspective on life's challenges?

Day 2: The Humility of Christ

Reading: Luke 2:22-24, Philippians 2:5-11

Devotional: The offering of two turtledoves reveals the humble circumstances of Jesus' family. Yet this seemingly insignificant offering points to the profound humility of Christ, who emptied Himself for our sake. Reflect on areas in your life where pride may be hindering your spiritual growth. How can you cultivate Christ-like humility in your daily interactions and decisions?

Day 3: God's Provision in Our Poverty

Reading: Leviticus 12:1-8, 2 Corinthians 8:9

Devotional: God's allowance for the poor to offer birds instead of a lamb shows His concern for all, regardless of their means. Just as God provided the sacrifice for Jesus' presentation, He provides for our greatest need through Christ. Consider times when you've felt spiritually or materially poor. How has God met you in those moments? How can you trust in His provision more fully today?

Day 4: Sanctification through Christ

Reading: Colossians 1:15-23, Hebrews 10:10-14

Devotional: Jesus sanctifies not only the Old Testament sacrifices but also our lives today. As the "firstborn over all creation" and the "firstborn from the dead," He makes us holy through His sacrifice. Reflect on areas of your life that you struggle to surrender to God. How can you allow Christ's sanctifying work to transform these areas? What does it mean to live as one who is made holy in Christ?

Day 5: Our Significance in God's Eyes

Reading: Revelation 1:4-8, Romans 5:6-11

Devotional: Despite feelings of insignificance or worthlessness, remember that you are deeply valued by God. Christ's blood, more precious than any earthly treasure, was shed for you. Meditate on the love of God that would go to such lengths for your redemption. How does this truth impact your self-worth and your treatment of others? Consider how you can live today in light of your significance in God's eyes.
