What Will St. Peter's Look Like in 2030?

Special Edition: Advancement & Facilities • September 14, 2026

What will St. Peter’s need in five years’ time? What about in ten years’ time? What is the next generation going to need from their church?

These are precisely the kinds of questions we are considering as we put our theme, "Called in One", into practice. God has given St. Peter’s a campus, financial resources, and various ministries that give us the chance to proclaim Christ and serve His people. Our responsibility is to faithfully look after what God has placed in our hands today while also preparing for the ministry He may assign to us tomorrow.

Which is why two new teams are getting to work.

The Advancement Team is adopting a long-term perspective and considering what will happen seven to ten years from now. They will examine trends in our membership, attendance, demographics, and giving as they look for ways to encourage both planned and legacy giving. They are asking themselves, “How can we be careful and loyal stewards so that the ministry of St. Peter’s remains strong for future generations?”

Meanwhile, the Facilities Team is taking a fresh look at our buildings and campus. What requires attention? What changes will make our spaces safer, more accessible, and better fit for ministry? What should we repair, improve, or eventually replace?

When St. Peter’s reaches its 175th anniversary in 2030, this work will enable us to develop a well-considered, prioritized plan for caring for the space where ministry takes place. Coordinating these teams with our strategic plan at this stage will help us get ready for the future capital campaign.

In the end, these teams are about people God has already gathered here. The people He is bringing through our doors today, and the people we pray will sit in our pews, learn the faith, receive His gifts, and hear the Good News of Jesus Christ many years from now. This work is just beginning.

While these teams listen, learn, pray, and make recommendations, we will keep you up to date on what is happening. This is because being “Called in One” involves caring about the ministry, which we will faithfully pass on to those who come after us.

In Christ,

Pastor Danny
