Baptismal Celebration

Pastor Adam McDowell • January 12, 2026

“It was awesome to see all these banners.”

This was one joyful statement amongst so many other happy comments as we celebrated the gift of Baptism. In the last church year, 18 people received this sacrament. And this work of the Holy Spirit continues; since November 30th, the beginning of this church year, we have had several baptisms including a string of baptisms three weekends in a row. What a tremendous blessing to our congregation. At every baptism, God puts His name on that person and calls them His own child. The Lord then asks the Church, you and I, to nurture them.

Therefore, let us care for them, and here is one way that you can. Baptism has been taught to us as being a new birth of the Spirit. So, when new things come about like a new day, new week, new snow, and a new thing in your life remember in your prayers of celebration to thank the Lord for our baptized siblings, and don’t forget to give joy for your own baptism. Give thanks to the Lord for bringing us to the waters of baptism and working forgiveness of sins, rescuing us from death and the devil, and giving us salvation.

Lord, We give you thanks for all who have been baptized at this font, and for the joy of your Church as you add to Your household those whom You have called by name, especially Callaway Adams, Charlotte Baumgartner, Joseph Baumgartner, Claire Bigelow, Cameron Casteel, Franklin Caywood, Delilah Corcoran, Killian Faurote, Chase Fiedler, Abigail Kohn, Adalynn Kreigh, Kilee Lilly, Bennett McMahan, Eloise Metz, Evelynn Morales, Willow Richardson, Matthew Rodenbeck, and Jett Vanderbosch. Amen.
