"One generation shall commend Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts." - Psalm 145:4

St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and School has been shaped by a legacy of faith, fellowship, and learning that stretches back to our founding in 1855. For nearly 170 years, families have gathered here to worship, grow, and serve side by side. The photographs, documents, hymnals, artifacts, and cherished stories they left behind are far more than relics — they are living witnesses to God’s faithfulness and to the steadfast devotion of His people through every generation.

To honor and preserve this heritage, we have established the St. Peter’s Heritage Collection, a carefully curated archive and display that will safeguard and share our congregation’s story. Fragile items will be protected using archival-quality boxes, sleeves, and tissue. Museum-grade display cases and stands will allow us to share these treasures with our congregation, our students, our alumni, and the wider community, ensuring that this history remains visible and meaningful.

We are grateful to have received a grant to begin this important work. However, the grant covers only part of the project, and the remaining funds must come from within our own church family.

And this is where we come together.

Every member of St. Peter’s — whether your roots here run generations deep or you have only recently made this your church home — has a place in this unfolding story. Supporting this project means helping preserve the memories and milestones of those who came before us. It also means ensuring that future generations will see themselves in the ongoing narrative of God’s work in this place. Together, we are weaving the past, present, and future into a shared testimony of God’s goodness.

This effort is also a meaningful step toward our 175th anniversary in 2030. Imagine celebrating that milestone surrounded by displays that bring our history to life — early school records, German hymnals, confirmation photos, artifacts from two centuries of ministry. Your support will help make that vision a reality.

We invite you to prayerfully consider contributing to the St. Peter’s Heritage Collection. In the months ahead, there will be several opportunities to help us meet the goal needed to match our grant. Together, we will preserve our history, celebrate our heritage, and inspire the generations yet to come.
