Awaiting the Christ Child: December at St. Peter's

The season of Advent invites us to slow down, lift our eyes to the promises of God, and prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ. As Lutherans, Advent is not simply a countdown to Christmas, but a sacred time of repentance, reflection, and hope. This December, St. Peter’s is blessed with many opportunities to worship, gather, learn, fellowship, and rejoice. We pray you will join us as we walk together toward the manger, remembering the One who comes as Savior and King.

Wednesday Advent Worship – 7:00 pm

Each Wednesday in Advent, we gather in the sanctuary for evening worship — a chance to pause midweek, breathe deeply, and rest in God’s promises.

  • December 3 – Vespers: A peaceful, contemplative service of Scripture and prayer that beautifully sets the tone for the season.

  • December 10 – Advent Hymn Sing: Come early at 5:30 pm for the *Sisters in Christ Cookie Swap* in the Cornerstone Room (Register HERE). Bring your family and cookies to share, then join us for a joyful evening of beloved Advent hymns at 7 pm.

  • December 17 – Day School Christmas Program: Held in the gym this year, our middle school students share the story of Christ’s birth through music and Scripture. A treasured tradition each year!
