Pastor's Corner
The Strategic Plan Belongs to All of Us
Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
At our May Voters Assembly, St. Peter’s adopted a strategic plan to help guide our congregation over the next several years. I am grateful for this work, and even more grateful for the spirit in which it came together.
This plan did not begin with a small group of leaders sitting in a room and deciding what the congregation should do. It grew out of the life of the congregation itself. Through conversations, meetings, surveys, and countless informal interactions, we listened to the hopes, concerns, priorities, and passions of the people of St. Peter’s. The plan we now have is our best effort to honor what we heard.
That is why this plan belongs to all of us. It is not simply a document for leaders or committees. It is an invitation for every member of St. Peter’s to take part in the mission Christ has given us. In that sense, this plan also marks a culture shift. It asks each of us to pray, reflect, and consider: “Where is the Lord calling me to serve?”
Our areas of focus include deepening belonging within the congregation, unifying the ministry of our church, preschool, and day school, building for future mission and growth, and investing in lifelong discipleship.
The Lord has placed a wonderful opportunity before us. I encourage every member of St. Peter’s to read the strategic plan, pray over it, and receive it for what it is: an invitation. It is an invitation to serve the Lord here at St. Peter’s, to take part in the mission He has given us, and to join together in the work of His kingdom. The harvest is indeed ripe and ready!
In Christ,
Pastor Danny
