PrayER Partners
PrayER Partners: A New PrayER Team Initiative
Hello, St. Peter’s!
I wanted to take a moment to tell you about some exciting changes we’re seeing in our PrayER ministry here at St. Peter’s.
If you’re not familiar with PrayERs, this ministry has been serving our congregation for the past five years, and during that time our volunteers have helped with more than 3,600 individual prayer requests! Our volunteers have done wonderful work over the years, and we are grateful for the many ways they have prayed for and supported our church family.
But we’re looking forward to what comes next!
As you know, St. Peter’s has always been committed to caring for one another in meaningful ways, and that includes caring for those who may be especially in need of our time, presence, and attention. We've shown this most recently through our Meal Train Ministry which is ongoing, Angel Tree which is making preparations, and this fall, we will open our healthcare clinic in partnership with Community of Christian Health Care (CCHC) to serve our community here in our neighborhood. And, at the same time, our PrayER ministry is looking for ways to care for people right here at St. Peter’s.
To that end, we are now offering volunteers the opportunity to bless others through PrayER Partners!
After receiving appropriate training on September 19, PrayER Partners will go out in pairs to visit one of our greatest-need populations: St. Peter's shut-ins and parishioners living in nursing homes.
Our goal is simple: to be present. We want to pray with them, share a devotion, listen to them, and offer meaningful ways to share the love of Christ with them on a personal level.
Already, more than twenty volunteers have expressed their willingness to serve in this ministry. But let’s face it, we could always use more!
Please pray about this. If the Holy Spirit is calling you to serve those who may need a little extra care and companionship, please contact Kami Jo Mogelvang via email or call through the church office to let her know you would like to become a PrayER Partner.
Without question, we believe that when we go to bless others, we will be blessed as well. What a wonderful opportunity to bring the love of Christ to members of our St. Peter’s family who may not be able to be with us in worship each week.
May God bless you as you consider how He might use you through this wonderful new aspect of our PrayER ministry!
In Christ,
Pastor Nate
A quick note to our current (and future) PrayERs. You may notice the way you receive prayer requests look a little different. If you have not shared with us your preferred way of receiving the prayer requests we send out, please contact Kami Mogelvang or click the button to fill out a simple form.
