Rest, Renewal, and Worship This Summer

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Summer is a gift. It brings longer days, warmer weather, family trips, backyard projects, and opportunities for rest and relaxation. After a busy year, many of us look forward to stepping away from our regular routines for a while.

But even as we rest from work, school, and full calendars, we do not take a break from God. And thanks be to God, He never takes a break from us.

In fact, the rest we seek in summer is a reminder of the deeper rest we receive from the Lord. Jesus says, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Our ultimate rest is found not simply in a vacation, a quiet morning, or time away, but in Christ Himself—His Word, His promises, His forgiveness, and His gifts.

That is why we encourage you to make worship part of your summer rhythm. When you are home, join us at St. Peter’s as we gather around God’s Word and Sacrament. When you are away, we invite you to worship with us online through our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@StPetersFW or directly on our Worship page on The Hub.

And when your travels give you the opportunity to worship in person, you can find LCMS congregations near you through the LCMS Church Finder: https://locator.lcms.org/church.

Wherever summer takes you, you are never away from the body of Christ. Enjoy the gift of rest. Receive the greater gift of God’s rest in Christ.

In Christ,

Pastor Danny
