Pastor's Corner: Food Drive
Thankful to Give and Receive Abundantly
Hi St. Peter's,
I'm excited and thankful for so many things we're doing and preparing for at our church. Between our prayer ministries, family discipleship (which you'll hear more about soon!), and our many fellowship opportunities, it's pretty amazing to see the people of our church be the hand's and feet of God here on earth.
Speaking of being thankful, I'd like to remind you all about our Thanksgiving Food Drive. This wonderful collection involves our schools, our social ministry team, our women's ministry, and all of our parishioners as we come together to provide for families in need.
In particular, I'd like to acknowledge Mike Bultmeier who has been leading this ministry for a number of years. His leadership has been incredibly important in this area and included below is his letter about the upcoming event.
Please take the time to review it and prayefully consider how you can be a part of this opportunity.
Bring your can goods, or volunteer your time and know that not only are you impacting the lives of people within our church family but also many Seminary students as well!
Peace be with you,
Pastor Nate
THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE 2026 #28
The signs that harvest time is upon us are all around, farmers bringing in their corn and soy beans, and the weather turning cooler. All reminders that it is once again time to think about our St. Peter’s annual Thanksgiving Day Food Drive. This year Thanksgiving Day falls on Thursday, November 26th, and the Social Ministry Team will again be setting up tables in the west hallway to accommodate your food donations, and include our big Campbell’s Soup can for cash donations.
Members participating are asked to, please, check your donations expiration dates and bring only non-perishable food items with dates that are not expired.
The Social Ministry Team and volunteers will again gather on Friday morning, November 27th, at 9:00 am, to sort and divide the food collected. Last year we had enough to provide 14 families with a generous supply of food and still had seven full boxes of food to deliver to the Seminary Food Bank for distribution to students there, Praise God!
If you or someone you know could use this kind of help, please contact one of our pastors, providing a name, phone number, and address, by November 16, 2026. This information will be used, as needed, in a confidential manor. With God’s guidance and direction, we will again be able to help families, member and non-member alike, to have a Happy Thanksgiving. God’s blessings to all involved, thank you.
