Annual BOD Retreat Update

August 3, 2026

Board of Directors Chair, Ben Clinkenbeard

Greetings St. Peter’s!

Your Board of Directors would like to provide a brief update as to our activities and announcements during the past month. We would like to once again give recognition to our outgoing Board members Bob Hart and Bob Jacobus. Their commitment to St. Peter’s and their servant heart does not go unnoticed. We would like to again welcome the newly elected Julie West to the Board. Furthermore, we would like to announce the appointment of Chad Ervin to the Board as he fulfills the one year vacancy due to Bob Jacobus’ Board of Directors retirement.

Sunday, July 26th, was our annual Board retreat here at St. Peter’s. We would like to give special thanks to Vice Chair Bill Habegger as he set the retreat’s agenda. This included: a get-to-know-you activity which provided a better opportunity to connect with our fellow board members; a Policy Based Governance review; a scenario-based activity to continually review and edit Board policies; and a Pastor Eggold-lead activity which enhanced our “big picture” purpose and description of our One Ministry vision here at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and School.

As the new 2026-2027 Board year continues to take shape, Ben Clinkenbeard has been elected Chair, Bill Habegger Vice Chair and Jenny Grisez Secretary. Aaron Olson continues to serve as Treasurer. As Pastor Eggold was enjoying a family vacation during our July’s board meeting, we welcomed principal Chris Brune to the meeting. He gave an overview of the school year and gave the board input on Choice Scholarships, and state and federal SGO programs. Please be on the lookout as to the announcement of these programs in the months to come and how these may provide tax benefits to our church members.

In addition, next month we will be reestablishing our annual goals based on Board transparency, long-range planning and promoting our campus-wide, "Called in One" ministry theme. As the one-year anniversary of Pastor Eggold and his family joining our Church has arrived (Divine Call accepted August 2nd, 2026), the Board is very excited to see the progress St. Peter’s has made in adapting to Policy Based Governance. The Board looks forward to the path our Lord has made!
