Senior Pastor Candidate Nomination Form

Call Committee • February 10, 2025

An email went out on Saturday afternoon with an electronic candidate nomination form.

The Senior Pastor Call Committee would like to thank all of those who took the time to complete the survey on the desired traits of a senior pastor. As many of you noted (and was confirmed in the close results of the survey), all the traits in that survey were desirable in a faithful pastor. Your responses helped the committee identify those traits most important to you and will greatly assist the process of reviewing qualified candidates. Below are the top 10 traits identified by the survey:

  • Holds faithfully to God’s Word and our LCMS Lutheran doctrine
  • Is a good leader who brings people together
  • Is personable and works well with people
  • Is able to deal with conflict wisely, pastorally, and thoroughly
  • Genuinely likes people and wants to get to know them
  • Is mature both personally and spiritually
  • Is a servant leader
  • Manages staff fairly and consistently
  • Is a good listener
  • Is a good preacher

We now seek your assistance once more in the search for the man that God has selected to serve as St. Peter’s next Senior Pastor. The Call Committee will now accept nominations for qualified LCMS pastors who exemplify the above character traits. Nominations may be submitted online using the link that was emailed to you or by completing the form on the back of this paper and inserting it in the wooden church in the Ministry Center. Nominations will be collected until February 24, 2025, then all submitted names will be forwarded to the Indiana District office for review.

If you need any help with a nomination or have questions, you can contact the team at callteam@stpetersfw.org.

A Lifetime of Love
By Pastor Nate Widener July 28, 2025
St. Peter’s Family, My wife Amy and I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for the outpouring of love you have shown us over the last several weeks. This past weekend, my oldest daughter Gwyn was married to our wonderful son-in-law Benjamin Corley, and we couldn’t be happier. But, what made it all the sweeter was seeing so many of your caring and supportive faces in the congregation. Similarly, as you know, just a few short weeks ago I lost my father, Nick Widener, and I cannot express to you the depth of my thankfulness for all of the condolences that you have given me and my family. Your cards are all sitting on the windowsill of my office. Without question St. Peter’s is a loving and caring congregation, and this is part of what makes you so great. Thank you for taking care of us, so that we can also take care of you. May God Bless you, Pastor Nate

As we begin our new preschool year, we will need some supplies. It takes a lot of glue, markers and paint to keep preschoolers busy. Please consider taking a letter or two from our “Giving Tree”. Each letter is labeled with a needed supply item to be donated. Once you have shopped, you can return the item(s) to the tree. Thank you for your generosity as you bless our preschool. You are truly appreciated!
