Excellence in our Preschool

St. Peter’s Preschool has a long history of excellence beginning in 2001. We offer a variety of classes to serve 2-5-year-old students and their families. We have a loving staff that has a rooted history and enjoys connecting our Christian faith with our students. Our preschool is Jesus-centered and promotes learning through play to help our children grow spiritually, academically, emotionally, socially, and physically. Some exciting things we do are chapel, New School Year Bash, music class, library time with Honey Bunny, Minds in Motion, field trips, Preschool Prom, art projects, Grandparents’ Day, and National Lutheran Schools Week celebrations. Families are encouraged to get to know one another and to participate in events which creates a feeling of a “Preschool Family.” We also get involved in the community by using our chapel offering money to help others. Jared the Comfort Dog, The Fort Wayne Rescue Mission, Breastie Boxes, Missionary Rev. Sharp, Erin’s House, and The Shepherd’s Hand are just a few of the places we have supported through our offerings.

Currently, we are collecting new and gently used shoes for people in underdeveloped countries. Our goal is to collect 100 bags of 25 pairs. So far we are at about 20% of our goal. If you would like to donate, you may leave your shoes in the Preschool hallway, by the Day School office, or in the Ministry Center at Church. We will be collecting shoes through March 13.

If you have a child that is ready for preschool, we are beginning registration now. Current preschool families will register beginning February 10, church members will begin registering on February 17, and registration will open to the public on February 24. We would encourage you to contact the preschool to arrange a tour for a better insight into all the wonderful things that are offered. Please contact Barb Christian at preschool@stpetersfw.org or 260-748-0775 to schedule a tour or for additional questions.

A Lifetime of Love
By Pastor Nate Widener July 28, 2025
St. Peter’s Family, My wife Amy and I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for the outpouring of love you have shown us over the last several weeks. This past weekend, my oldest daughter Gwyn was married to our wonderful son-in-law Benjamin Corley, and we couldn’t be happier. But, what made it all the sweeter was seeing so many of your caring and supportive faces in the congregation. Similarly, as you know, just a few short weeks ago I lost my father, Nick Widener, and I cannot express to you the depth of my thankfulness for all of the condolences that you have given me and my family. Your cards are all sitting on the windowsill of my office. Without question St. Peter’s is a loving and caring congregation, and this is part of what makes you so great. Thank you for taking care of us, so that we can also take care of you. May God Bless you, Pastor Nate

As we begin our new preschool year, we will need some supplies. It takes a lot of glue, markers and paint to keep preschoolers busy. Please consider taking a letter or two from our “Giving Tree”. Each letter is labeled with a needed supply item to be donated. Once you have shopped, you can return the item(s) to the tree. Thank you for your generosity as you bless our preschool. You are truly appreciated!
