SOUPer Bowl Food Drive & Chicken Dinners

Social Ministry Team & Youth • January 20, 2025

What does football, chicken, and your pantry all have to do with one another?

It means it’s January at St. Peter’s! Support our Youth heading to the National Youth Gathering this summer through our annual Chicken Dinner Ticket sales that started this past weekend and the Social Ministry Team will be setting up for another Souper Bowl Food Drive.

Super Bowl LIX, (59), is scheduled for Sunday, February 9, 2025, with a kick-off time of 6:30 PM in New Orleans, LA. Once again, this collection will be given to the Associated Churches of Fort Wayne Food Bank, to aid them in feeding those living in and around the Fort Wayne area.

Last year we introduced our extra-large, “Campbell’s” soup can, as a receptacle for those who may have forgotten to bring a food donation, to instead, participate with a cash donation. This large donation can will again be placed on one of the tables located in the west hallway for the food collection.

We ask that you donate only non-perishable food items and, please, make sure that none of them have exceeded their expiration dates. Food/cash will be collected at church services on Saturday, February 8, 2025 and both services on Sunday, February 9, 2025.

So get your Chicken Dinner tickets NOW and bring your cans in LATER on Sunday, February 9th. Thank you for your continued support of this very worthwhile cause, may God richly bless you and our efforts.

A Lifetime of Love
By Pastor Nate Widener July 28, 2025
St. Peter’s Family, My wife Amy and I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for the outpouring of love you have shown us over the last several weeks. This past weekend, my oldest daughter Gwyn was married to our wonderful son-in-law Benjamin Corley, and we couldn’t be happier. But, what made it all the sweeter was seeing so many of your caring and supportive faces in the congregation. Similarly, as you know, just a few short weeks ago I lost my father, Nick Widener, and I cannot express to you the depth of my thankfulness for all of the condolences that you have given me and my family. Your cards are all sitting on the windowsill of my office. Without question St. Peter’s is a loving and caring congregation, and this is part of what makes you so great. Thank you for taking care of us, so that we can also take care of you. May God Bless you, Pastor Nate

As we begin our new preschool year, we will need some supplies. It takes a lot of glue, markers and paint to keep preschoolers busy. Please consider taking a letter or two from our “Giving Tree”. Each letter is labeled with a needed supply item to be donated. Once you have shopped, you can return the item(s) to the tree. Thank you for your generosity as you bless our preschool. You are truly appreciated!
