Lutheran Liturgical Living

A Lutheran Witness Magazine Article • January 20, 2025

As our culture and society continues to chide Christian practices and distract families with secular activities, conversations often come to the genuine question of: How do we order our lives outside of worship in a distinctly Christian way?

The Lutheran Witness Magazine has begun a series that will take you through a month-by-month exploration of a few of the rich traditions you might consider incorporating into your own homelife that coincide with the seasons of the church year, Lutheran feasts and festivals. The authors’ of this new monthly column and website called allthehousehold.com, Dr. Kristen Einertson and Tessa Muench, are both pastor’s wives and mothers in Minnesota. January’s article starts with Epiphany traditions such as a delicious recipe of a King Cake as well as introducing the website featuring upcoming Holy Days, traditions, and activities you can do with your family at home or open a discussion around your dinner table or family devotion before bedtime. Take a look each month for new ideas! The printed magazine can be found in our Ministry Center, you can look up articles online (we linked this one convienently for you through the button below), or you can order a subscription to arrive in your own mailbox.
