Sermon "God Remembers, God Forgets?" by Pastor Paul Dancy

Day 1: God's Unfailing Memory Reading: Psalm 25:6-7, Genesis 8:1-12
Devotional: God's memory is perfect and purposeful. Unlike our fallible human memories, God never forgets His promises or His people. When the Bible says "God remembered," it means He acted on their behalf. Reflect on times when you felt forgotten, but God showed up in your life. How does knowing that God always remembers you impact your faith? Today, thank God for His unfailing memory and ask Him to help you trust in His timing, even when answers seem delayed.

Day 2: The Gift of Divine Forgetfulness Reading: Jeremiah 31:31-34, Psalm 103:8-14
Devotional: While God remembers His promises, He chooses to forget our sins when we repent. This divine forgetfulness is a profound act of grace. Consider the weight of guilt you may be carrying. Have you truly accepted God's forgiveness, or are you holding onto shame for sins God has already forgotten? Spend time in prayer, releasing your past to God and embracing the freedom of His forgiveness. Ask for strength to extend this same forgiveness to others who have wronged you.

Day 3: Remembering God's Goodness Reading: Psalm 103:1-5, Deuteronomy 8:2-10
Devotional: Our human nature tends to forget God's blessings and focus on our current struggles. The Israelites quickly forgot God's miraculous deliverance and provision. How often do we do the same? Take time to list specific ways God has blessed you in the past year. How can remembering these blessings strengthen your faith for current challenges? Commit to cultivating a habit of gratitude, regularly recalling and thanking God for His goodness in your life.

Day 4: God's Perfect Timing Reading: Galatians 4:4-7, 2 Peter 3:8-9
Devotional: God's timing often differs from our expectations, but it is always perfect. The Israelites waited 430 years for deliverance, and the world waited millennia for the Messiah. Yet God acted at precisely the right moment. Reflect on situations in your life where you're waiting on God. How can you cultivate patience and trust in His timing? Ask God for the faith to believe He is working even when you can't see it, and for wisdom to recognize His perfect timing in your life.

Day 5: Engraved on His Hands Reading: Isaiah 49:14-16, Romans 8:35-39
Devotional: God's love for us is so deep and permanent that He says we are engraved on the palms of His hands, a grisly picture of His coming crucifixion. This powerful imagery reminds us that we are always before Him, always remembered, always loved. In moments of doubt or loneliness, picture your name written on God's hands. How does this change your perspective on your value and God's presence in your life? Spend time in prayer, thanking God for His unbreakable love and asking for a deeper awareness of His constant presence with you.
