BOD Retreat

A Message from the Board of Directors

On Sunday, August 3rd, the Board of Directors invited Pastor McDowell and Pastor Widener to attend our first annual retreat here at St. Peter's. This newly established retreat had several purposes.

  1. The timing of the event (to be annually scheduled soon after the Spring Voters' meeting) allows for the outgoing members the opportunity to convey words of wisdom to the BOD and to help the newly elected members transition nicely into their new responsibilities,
  2. The event is a time to "retreat". In other words, we get to know our members better over lunch in a relaxed, informal setting. A good bonding day!
  3. Part of the afternoon was dedicated to going over some of the documents related to the BOD; including the church's constitution, bylaws and policy manual.
  4. A good portion of the day's focus was celebrating the announcement of Pastor Eggold and helping to insure a smooth transition over the months to come.
  5. We also went over our 12 month calendar of events and set our yearly goals. In addition, we suggested holding a townhall-style discussion with our members to help communicate the board’s direction and to provide an opportunity for members to voice suggestions and concerns.

Your St. Peter’s Board of Directors look forward to serving God, our one ministry, and you, our members! Praise be to God!
