Our Missionaries on the Move

Pastor Adam McDowell • January 27, 2025

This past weekend, we talked about the "right time."

Watch the video of Pastor McDowell telling us more about "The Right Time" for Pastor Sharp and his family.

This weekend, we talked about the “right time.” The right time for Jesus to go into his hometown to proclaim that he has set the captives free, free from sin, death, and the devil, not just for his hometown, not just for Israel, but for the entire world. We were on that mission as well, to proclaim that Good News.

During the month of January, we pay special attention to the work of our missionary, Pastor Sharp and his missionary work in Uruguay. I spoke to him over the phone and he said they believe that God is calling them elsewhere. Now is the right time to let the work of God continue to happen in Uruguay with the churches that they have planted. They have reached goal posts in their ministry in Uruguay and now will move their work to Puerto Rico. Pastor Sharp is going to plant a new church in San Juan, and Angie is going to work to build a new school in Ponce.

Over the years, we have kept Pastor Sharp in our prayers and have financially given him our gifts to support that mission work. Our Mission Team continues to ask you to keep Pastor Sharp and Angie in your prayers as well as to continue to give of your financial gifts to support this work of the proclamation of the gospel. No matter where we are, it is always the right time to talk about our Lord, that He has given us forgiveness. We thank Pastor Sharp for the great work he and Angie are doing and also being an example to us here at St. Peters.

A Lifetime of Love
By Pastor Nate Widener July 28, 2025
St. Peter’s Family, My wife Amy and I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for the outpouring of love you have shown us over the last several weeks. This past weekend, my oldest daughter Gwyn was married to our wonderful son-in-law Benjamin Corley, and we couldn’t be happier. But, what made it all the sweeter was seeing so many of your caring and supportive faces in the congregation. Similarly, as you know, just a few short weeks ago I lost my father, Nick Widener, and I cannot express to you the depth of my thankfulness for all of the condolences that you have given me and my family. Your cards are all sitting on the windowsill of my office. Without question St. Peter’s is a loving and caring congregation, and this is part of what makes you so great. Thank you for taking care of us, so that we can also take care of you. May God Bless you, Pastor Nate

As we begin our new preschool year, we will need some supplies. It takes a lot of glue, markers and paint to keep preschoolers busy. Please consider taking a letter or two from our “Giving Tree”. Each letter is labeled with a needed supply item to be donated. Once you have shopped, you can return the item(s) to the tree. Thank you for your generosity as you bless our preschool. You are truly appreciated!
