A Memory Quilt

A Lifetime of Love

The beginnings of this memory quilt were discovered in a box following the passing of our beloved wife and mother, Jan Bradtmueller. As a long time quilter and gifted seamstress, Jan lovingly crafted clothing not only for herself and her children, but also for extended family and friends. She passed down her skills, teaching each of her daughters; Christie, Carla and Vicki; to also sew their own garments.

Every piece of fabric in this quilt holds the memory of a cherished maternity top, a long Easter dress, tiny doll clothes, cozy pajamas, or a proudly completed 4-H project. These garments were sewn by Jan; her grandmother, Christine Busse; her mother, Velma Busse; her mother-in-law, Louise Bradtmueller; and her daughters—each stitch a reflection of love, tradition, and the creative spirit of the women in our family.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the quilters who brought this creation to life. A labor of love that our family will treasure for generations to come.

Otto Bradtmueller, Christie Biddlecome, Carla Fritz, Vicki Fitzgerald, Mark and Brian Bradtmueller

You can view this beautiful work of art hanging in our staircase. Each unique scrap of cloth has been numbered and labeled below with a memory. Our quilters meet every Thursday in the Cornerstone Room from 9 am - 3 pm.  If you love to quilt or have always wanted to learn how, join them! Hey's St. Peter's! How's your summer going? We want to know!
By Pastor Nate Widener July 28, 2025
St. Peter’s Family, My wife Amy and I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for the outpouring of love you have shown us over the last several weeks. This past weekend, my oldest daughter Gwyn was married to our wonderful son-in-law Benjamin Corley, and we couldn’t be happier. But, what made it all the sweeter was seeing so many of your caring and supportive faces in the congregation. Similarly, as you know, just a few short weeks ago I lost my father, Nick Widener, and I cannot express to you the depth of my thankfulness for all of the condolences that you have given me and my family. Your cards are all sitting on the windowsill of my office. Without question St. Peter’s is a loving and caring congregation, and this is part of what makes you so great. Thank you for taking care of us, so that we can also take care of you. May God Bless you, Pastor Nate

As we begin our new preschool year, we will need some supplies. It takes a lot of glue, markers and paint to keep preschoolers busy. Please consider taking a letter or two from our “Giving Tree”. Each letter is labeled with a needed supply item to be donated. Once you have shopped, you can return the item(s) to the tree. Thank you for your generosity as you bless our preschool. You are truly appreciated!
