Called in One: Ministry Theme
Called in One
Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!
As one school year comes to a close, we are already looking ahead to the 2026–2027 academic year. At our Closing Chapel, we unveiled the theme for next year: “Called in One,” drawn from Colossians 3:15, “And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.”
This theme will help shape the life of St. Peter’s in a meaningful way. In many respects, this is the first time we have embraced a shared theme intended not only for the school or preschool, but for the parish as a whole. Church, school, and preschool will all gather around the same Scriptural word and be invited into the same common focus.
“Called in One” speaks to the gift Christ has given His people. He has joined us together in one body under His peace. That means this theme is about more than togetherness in a general sense. It calls us to a deeper unity of purpose and a clearer unity of mission in Jesus Christ. We are gathered around the same Lord, the same Word, and the same life together as His people. As that happens, we grow not only in connection to one another, but also in a shared sense of who we are and what Christ is calling us to be.
Over the course of the coming year, “Called in One” will help guide a variety of things across parish life. It can shape Sunday morning Bible studies, midweek Advent and Lenten series, school & preschool chapels, and other opportunities for worship, learning, fellowship, and service. It gives us a common language for reflecting on what it means to live together under the peace of Christ as one body.
You will also hear more in the months ahead about how this theme is taking shape in St. Peter’s life. Part of the gift of a shared theme is that the wider congregation can see how our children, teachers, and families are being formed by the same Word that is forming the whole parish.
In Christ,
Pastor Danny
