Sermon by Pastor Nate Widener

Day 1: The Narrow Door

Reading: Luke 13:22-30

Devotional: Jesus speaks of a narrow door through which we must enter to be saved. This door is Christ Himself - His sacrifice and the faith He grants us. Today, reflect on the gift of salvation. How has God's grace opened this door for you? Consider the ways you can express gratitude for this unearned gift. Remember, our salvation is not something we achieve, but something we receive through faith. Take time to thank God for His mercy and for keeping you in faith. Pray for a heart that remains humble and grateful for this incredible gift.

Day 2: Growing in Faith

Reading: 1 Corinthians 3:1-9

Devotional: Paul speaks of spiritual milk and solid food, highlighting the importance of spiritual growth. Just as an athlete trains diligently, we too must actively cultivate our faith. How can you dedicate time to "spiritual training" today? Consider establishing a routine of Bible study, prayer, or meditation on God's Word. Remember, growth in faith is not about earning God's favor, but about deepening your relationship with Him. Ask God to help you transition from spiritual milk to solid food, growing in understanding and application of His Word in your daily life.

Day 3: Humility Before God

Reading: Psalm 131

Devotional: David's psalm teaches us about humility and trust in God. He speaks of not occupying himself with things too great or marvelous for him, instead finding peace in God's presence. How can you cultivate this kind of humility in your own life? Reflect on areas where you might be trying to control things beyond your understanding. Practice "calming and quieting your soul" by surrendering your worries and pride to God. Remember that true peace comes from recognizing God's sovereignty and resting in His care.

Day 4: God's Constant Presence

Reading: Psalm 23

Devotional: The transcription reminds us that God is with us 100% of the time. The psalm of the Good Shepherd beautifully illustrates this truth. Meditate on the image of God walking beside you through every moment of your day. How does this awareness change your perspective on daily challenges? Practice acknowledging God's presence in both mundane and significant moments. Thank Him for His constant care and guidance, and ask for the ability to be more aware of His presence throughout your day.

Day 5: Assuming a Christian Worldview

Reading: Romans 12:1-2

Devotional: Paul urges us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. This aligns with the idea of "assuming a Christian worldview" in all aspects of life. How can you intentionally view your circumstances, relationships, and decisions through the lens of your faith today? Challenge yourself to approach a difficult situation or relationship with this renewed perspective. Pray for God's wisdom to permeate your thoughts and actions, allowing His Word to become an integral part of who you are. Remember, this is not about perfectionism, but about allowing God's truth to shape your life gradually and consistently.
