Shepherding Care Ministry Team - what they do and how you can help

Pastor Nate: Hey everyone, I want to tell you about one of our ministries here at St. Peter's called the Shepherding Care Team. This is a ministry where we go and reach out to those people who haven't been to church in awhile, because we want to let them know that we love them and we want them to return to church where they can be fed by the Word of God and our sacrament. Here today with me is Mike Wiggins, the head of the Shepherding Care Team, and he's going to tell us about what the reward is for him.

Mike: Well, the reward is spectacular to me. I enjoy hearing about someone coming back to church, and it's bringing them back to the scriptures, back to the Lord. It's very exciting to me when that happens.

Pastor Nate: And why is this so important Mike?

Mike: Well, the fact is that it's not really a name, it's not really a number, it's their souls. We're looking at bringing people back, bringing their souls back to the Lord. And trying to bring the sheep back into the pen and bringing the body back together.

Pastor Nate: As Christ has told us it is important for us to go out and look for those lost sheep. So, if you can write a note, if you can send a text, or make a call, or if you can even meet with someone face to face, or just help us keep track of the records, we invite you to come be a part of the Shepherding Care Team. I promise you, it is rewarding and it is important here at St. Peter's. Peace be with you.

Contact Pastor Nate or Mike Wiggins for more information about joining the Shepherding Care Team by calling the church office or emailing pastornate@stpetersfw.org.

A Lifetime of Love
By Pastor Nate Widener July 28, 2025
St. Peter’s Family, My wife Amy and I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for the outpouring of love you have shown us over the last several weeks. This past weekend, my oldest daughter Gwyn was married to our wonderful son-in-law Benjamin Corley, and we couldn’t be happier. But, what made it all the sweeter was seeing so many of your caring and supportive faces in the congregation. Similarly, as you know, just a few short weeks ago I lost my father, Nick Widener, and I cannot express to you the depth of my thankfulness for all of the condolences that you have given me and my family. Your cards are all sitting on the windowsill of my office. Without question St. Peter’s is a loving and caring congregation, and this is part of what makes you so great. Thank you for taking care of us, so that we can also take care of you. May God Bless you, Pastor Nate

As we begin our new preschool year, we will need some supplies. It takes a lot of glue, markers and paint to keep preschoolers busy. Please consider taking a letter or two from our “Giving Tree”. Each letter is labeled with a needed supply item to be donated. Once you have shopped, you can return the item(s) to the tree. Thank you for your generosity as you bless our preschool. You are truly appreciated!
